My Cup Of Tea in Altofts offers a pleasantly unassuming cafe experience right on St Mary's Road, making it a convenient spot for locals and visitors in Normanton looking for a casual but satisfying catch-up or a quick refuel. The vibe inside leans towards cozy and welcoming, with a hint of personal charm enhanced by the owner's knack for baking — the cakes here are frequently mentioned by those who stop in, often bought on impulse to take home.

This cafe works well for a variety of everyday moments: popping in for a hot English Breakfast before starting the day, meeting a friend over a BBQ chicken panini with a light salad on the side, or settling down for a cream tea. The menu is refreshingly straightforward, balancing classic cafe staples like sandwiches and paninis (including vegetarian-friendly options like bean and cheese) with afternoon treats such as scones and milkshakes. Beverage-wise, there’s a decent range of cold drinks if you fancy something other than tea, though the focus rightly stays on the tea experience itself, which the place is named after.

Local families and groups can find My Cup Of Tea suits informal gatherings too — there’s enough space and a nicely kept, clean atmosphere that has earned it favor for occasions like baby showers, where the friendly staff step up to make sure everyone feels looked after. Early mornings and weekend brunch times see a steady flow of regulars who appreciate the homely feel and consistently well-presented food.

For those passing through Altofts, My Cup Of Tea provides a low-fuss, reliable option where attention is paid to friendly service and a comfortable dining room rather than flashy decor or trendy buzz. It’s the kind of place that works quietly as a community spot—a steady companion to the local rhythm, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or lingering a little longer with a slice of wedding cake and a warm pot of tea.

Lovely cute little cafe, very friendly staff and good service. I had a BBQ chicken panini which was gorgeous and it came with a lite salad and some nice crisps. Then a cream tea to follow which is homemade and was also lovely. I also highly recommend getting some cake to go as the owner is amazing at baking

Absolutely wonderful cafe, great little find. I wanted to book somewhere as we were travelling three hours North for my partner to have his van repaired and we needed somewhere close for a quick pit stop. This lovely cafe came up as within walking distance and decided to book via Instagram. Very quick reponse and very friendly ladies. Breakfast was amazing! If we were ever that way again, would definetely pop in. Highly recommend. Delicious! Sarah & Lee.

The loveliest ladies in the world run this place . We love going here as the food is great and the coffee is also very good. Husband used to work for Starbucks in NZ and he is a big coffee critic but he really likes the coffee here. Also this place is very baby friendly which makes it great to visit mid week even when you are on your own.

Well I would like to share our amazing afternoon tea me and my granny had today at 'My cup of Tea'. It was truly fantastic. I rung with very little notice, and Katie was super helpful. She put together us a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate my granny up coming birthday. What a treat. She had even put our a happy birthday banner on our table for us arriving. Honestly one of the nicest places. With amazing staff and totally beautiful selection of sandwiches, pastries and cakes. I would love to give you a 5* review to thank you for making our afternoon so special. Many thanks Donna & Granny x
